ABOUT ME

After a celebrated 17-year career as a professional dancer, during which I received two McKnight Fellowships for Outstanding Dance Artist (1998 & 2002) and the Sage Award for Outstanding Performer (2005), I transitioned to pursue my training and practice in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.

I have been independently licensed to practice psychotherapy in Minnesota since 1997, providing deep and intensive therapy from a relational perspective to individuals and couples. My extensive clinical experience encompasses diverse client populations and a wide range of presenting problems. My time at the Center for Victims of Torture enhanced my skills in diagnosing and treating trauma and trauma-related disorders, including mood and anxiety disorders, and chronic relationship difficulties.  I believe in the benefits of mindfulness, breath, and movement.

Since 2007, I have maintained a strong affiliation with the Minnesota Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis (MICP&P), where I completed my psychotherapy and psychoanalytic training. I serve as adjunct faculty for the Integrative Psychoanalytic Couple Therapy Certificate Program (a collaboration between the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute & The Institute for Clinical Social Work).  And I have completed the Advanced Psychoanalytic Studies Program at the Institute for the Psychoanalytic Study of Subjectivity (IPSS) in New York. I have presented at various venues, including the University of Minnesota's clinical and supervision series, served on the board of the Society of Psychoanalytic Studies (IPSS), and welcome opportunities for supervision and consultation.
